Windsor Castle, Part 3

This is the view down the other way. Some were apartments where 'Bloody' Mary lived; now several rooms are where former Brigadier Generals, etc. live.

From the photo above, look off into the distance at the 'galleries' of the middle building. That is where there is a royal guard like in London.

I actually got a response from this guy! When I was taking a photo of this soldier with the my friends, one of them suggested doing something with the gun, etc. I said 'have some respect!' The guard almost smiled and he moved his eyes accordingly - but then I felt like a hypocrite because of my photo with him....oh well, who's perfect, right?

We went to an Anglican service in St. George's Chapel. This is where Henry VIII is buried in a crypt with Jane Seymour...AND....Charles I! They told us the story about how the Parliamentarians brought his body to Windsor (which apparently was a 'Parliamentarian' town) where they sewed his head back on (the story goes, that they needed a portrait of him) and put him in the crypt with the Tudor's.

The service was loverly. The choir sounded so beautiful and it was interesting to experience what people call 'High Church'. A lot of pomp, ritual, repetition and gold. It made me happy though - the priests seemed to genuinely care about people and believe in God.

The End for us at Windsor! What a great, informative and sunny day! I was on the verge of not going because it was raining - I just have to learn that whenever Tara and Sarah go, Heavenly Father brings out the sunshine!
